Somerset Real Estate
Somerset (new properties range from $117,000 to $195,000)
are located south of Fish Creek Provincial Park, and southwest
of the old Shawnessy community. Somerset is nestled between 6
Street and 14th Street SW, and between 162nd Avenue to the north
and Marquis of Lorne Trail to the south. This location is excellent
for the first time home buyer. It offers close proximity to schools
and recreation centers. A six-acre public square at one of the
two entrances into Somerset is designed like an English country
garden with extensive landscaping. It includes decorating accents
like archways, picnic areas, pathways, a pair of tennis courts,

converts to a winter skating rink. Shopping for the area is east
off Macleod Trail in Shawnessy Village, complete with a Safeway,

Citadel is located south of Country Hills Boulevard and east
of Sarcee Trail. Country Hills Boulevard provides easy access
to Highway 1A. The location, on the northwest slope of Nose Hill
gives residents great mountain views. This is a upscale development
from Tirion Properties. The community is becoming one of the more
prestige areas to live in the Northwest, with houses priced as
high as $1.2 million being built. The neighbourhood even includes
a gated community.
The community has been under construction since 1991, and will
eventually include 2,500 homes. There are still house available
for $160,000 to $500,000, which may make the area more affordable.
The area provide easy access to school and local shops with Country
Hills Village (with a Superstore, and several banks, fast food
outlets and services) at the southeast corner of Country Hills
Boulevard and Sarcee Trail. For recreation the community is built
around an 18-hole Country Club of The Hamptons golf course, creating
both visible green space, plus close-by recreation for the adults.
Ball diamonds, tennis courts, hockey rinks, a community association
building and multi-use building are situated on a 30 acres parcel
of land.
